High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive, therapeutic technique that uses non-ionizing ultrasound waves to heat tissue.

HIFU treatments can be on the face, neck and body. It has become one of the most sought after, lifting treatments for the face and neck. This is a one-off treatment, which will help you achieve tighter, firmer, lifted skin. A three-dimensional alternative to an invasive facelift, with no cosmetic surgery and no down-time.

Outside of London, very few places are able to offer this cutting-edge treatment, so we are very excited to bring High Intensity Focused Ultrasound or HIFU to Widnes.

HIFU treatment lifts, tightens and tones loose skin to counteract the effects of both time and gravity. One, of the first effects of gravity is the brow drops and the eyes becomes smaller. This treatment will lift the brow which will then reduce the excess skin around the lids, opening up the eyes to give a more refreshed and youthful appearance. The treatment will:

- Lift and sharpen the jowl area and jawline

- Lifts the brow

- Reduces excess skin on upper eyelids

- Tightens loose skin around the stomach from childbirth or weight loss

- Stimulates natural collagen production

- No injectables

- No recovery time

- Noticeable results in 4 weeks

- Once per year treatment

- No cosmetic surgery

One treatment will show visible effects in lifting and tightening. There will be noticeable improvement in facial contouring, fine lines and wrinkles, visible within 4 weeks and further improvement to facial skin and tightening and wrinkles can be up to 6 months.

Post treatment

After having the treatment, you will be able to return to your daily activities immediately. There may be some redness or swelling initially, or you may experience some tingling, but these will disappear within hours.

HIFU skin tightening is clinically proven to be safe with natural looking, gradual rejuvenation affects.

How long will it last?

There may be some initial effect, but over 2-3 months the main lifting and tightening will take place, as new collagen is made. This will continue up to 6 months from the initial treatment. With the treatment producing new collagen on the inside, your natural aging process will dictate how long that translates into visible results on the outside.

Are there any side effects?

The skin may appear flushed at first, this can be during the treatment but sometimes lasting longer, the redness should disappear within a few hours. Some patients may experience tingling, slight swelling or numbness on small areas of the skin. As with any other cosmetic procedure, there is a possibility of other rare effects, which your practitioner will discuss with you.

Who is a good candidate?

A good HIFU candidate has mild to moderate skin laxity, where the skin begins to feel and look less firm. Examples would include a lowered eyebrow line, loose skin on the neck, sagging under the chin and lines or wrinkles on the chest. The best way to find out if you are a candidate is to book an appointment with our practitioner.

Is HIFU safe?

This HIFU procedure has been used safely in over 250,000 treatments worldwide. Ultrasound energy itself has been used safely in the medical field for more than 50 years.

How many treatments will I need?

Most clients only need one treatment however, this may be based on the degree of skin laxity. The biological response to ultrasound energy and the individual’s collagen building process, some clients may benefit from additional treatments because skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments can help clients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process.

What does HIFU feel like?

As the ultrasound energy is delivered, you will feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths, indicating the collagen building process has been initiated. Comfort levels vary from person to person, but the sensation only lasts while the ultrasound energy is being delivered.

How long will the treatment take?

The length of time will depend on how many areas are being treated. A face and neck procedure may take 60-90 minutes.
